The wait is over — our first podcast episode is live! Room 4 Four is a podcast hosted by four women from Connecticut about well, pretty much everything.

Room 4 Four Podcast

Would you believe me if I told you I wrote ‘podcast’ in invisible ink on my list of things I want to do before I’m 40? I didn’t jot it down in pen or marker because it has always been my secret dream to be a podcast host (not just a guest). I love real talk about real life topics, but social media stories isn’t always the best platform. A podcast allows you to have conversations with others and share it with the world.

I don’t know when I became the type of person who doesn’t share all of her hopes and aspirations out loud. But that’s me. Perhaps it is a fear of failure? Or maybe it’s superstition (if I say it out loud then it won’t happen??). Whatever the reason, I harbor secret desires on my bucket list — and podcast is at the top!

How did you end up on Room 4 Four?

Life doesn’t come with a guidebook, and let’s be honest, sometimes it feels like we’re figuring it out as we go. That’s where ‘Room 4 Four’ comes in.

During the first week of November I received an email from the Owner of Seasons Media. He proposed a few ways we could build a partnership between Caitlin Houston Blog and Seasons Media. One idea stuck out to me in particular so I scheduled a call to discuss his email in more detail. A few days later I was asked to be a part of something surreal: a female hosted podcast. We would be discussing anything and everything you’d chat about with your friends over coffee (or wine).

If I’m being honest, I was hesitant to believe the podcast would come to fruition. I’ve experienced a lot of disappointment in my blogging career when opportunities are too good to be true. Misinterpreted moments and unfortunate outcomes are commonplace in ‘this world’ (like that one time I was in the New York Times). Thanks to my family, friends, therapist, and the enthusiasm of Seasons Media’s own CEO — I stayed optimistic. And as one thing after another fell into place, my excitement about a dream coming true grew more real.

Our First Room 4 Four Podcast Episode is Live!

Fast forward to the first week in March and I’m jumping with joy as one of four incredible hosts on the Room 4 Four podcast. We have a gorgeous studio, a production team, and a social media strategist. We have spent months planning through email, texts, and zoom meetings. We’ve put hours into strategizing, laughing and recording in our studio. It feels like it’s been forever since that first email, the first phone call, and the first virtual group meetup. But here we are — and our first episode is LIVE today.

It’s all about embracing the raw, unfiltered beauty of real life.

What is Room 4 Four?

Do you have room for four? That’s what we’d ask if we were going out together. Kallie, Charlotte, Megan, and I make up Room 4 Four. We are four bloggers from Connecticut, each with our own perspectives and parenting styles, getting together to talk about, well, pretty much everything on air. We’ll dive into it all — the joys, the messes, the triumphs, the WTH’s, and the everyday hiccups. From navigating careers and family life to self-care, from mental health to getting older and parenting in an ever changing world, we’re discussing it all in a way that’s as real as a happy hour chat with friends.
