The Easiest (and Best) Christmas Eve Box Tradition
A fun Christmas tradition for your family is a Christmas Eve Box. Here is how to create a Christmas Eve Box for your children.
For as long as I can remember, my parents give my sister and me a Hallmark ornament every Christmas. I have an entire box filled with ornaments from every year since I was a little girl! Now that I’m a Mom, I am passing on the tradition to my daughters with a Christmas Eve Box.
The Christmas Eve Box Tradition
The Christmas Eve Box Contents
On Christmas Eve, my daughters open a special box containing Christmas pajamas, a Christmas book or video, and a unique ornament.
Making a Christmas Eve box for your child or a loved one is very easy! The most difficult task is actually deciding which pajamas, book/video, and ornament you want to buy. This will become a family tradition your children will want to pass along to their own families!

A few things about BOOKS: There is no such thing as having too many Christmas themed books at your house. I know some families who have one for every day of December! The first book Annabelle ever received was “The Night Before Christmas.” If you don’t want to gift a holiday book, try something for New Year’s Eve or winter themed!
If your children aren’t into books any more, add in a fun movie!
How to Make Every Year Memorable
I always love gifting special ornaments knowing someday they will hang on my daughters’ family trees. My husband and I have ornaments from our Moms representing every Christmas growing up. I love that Hallmark makes new ornaments each year, so the ornaments are always different! If the ornament is not dated, I like to write the year on the bottom of the ornament in a sharpie marker.
